As well as the Expressive drawing tips on the Google air hangout jam. I have made this booklet. I am really passionate about drawing in the expressive way. In this booklet I say that ‘there is no such thing as a bad drawing, don’t let ANYONE tell you otherwise’. I have come to this philosophy from years of drawing. Being able to do academic drawing and purely abstract drawing, I like to think I have a good perspective to come to this conclusion. It would be great to hear your views on this even if you don’t agree.

Another slightly controversial view I have is that traditional drawing is here to stay and possible will outlast what we perceive as digital drawing. I like to say, drawing is cutting edge. You don’t have to turn a pencil or a pen on. It does not crash. You do not have to pay for expensive upgrades.

In this day and age we are so easily distracted by the latest 3d graphic rendering of a ‘photo-realistic’ but childish zombie mutant, elf or wizard in the latest version of z brush, 3ds Max etc etc. Well, I say if I had to choose between digital and traditional drawing and for that matter art, the traditional would win out any day!
