Deserted Robots In The Deserts 3Z Universe
Deserted Robots In The Deserts 3Z Universe
The deserted robots are almost legendary both in the ground cities and also the 3Z floating city. When the droughts and the atom wars came before “the great contruction of the 3Z city”, some of the survivors had been part of the 21st century maker movement. They survived through their ingenuity to adapt. Whereas the non makers, the middle men, middle women and other similar non binary genders largely died due to their lack of practical survival skills.
Many makers knew the basics of robotics and artificial intelligence. They were able to salvage metals and circuit boards from some of the cities that were damaged or destroyed. The maker knowledge proved as valuable as gold.
The robots were often personalized.
Although they often looked like pieces of junk from 1980’s sci fi sitcoms from the USA or the UK, they often were able to serve their creators well. For example with basic arable farming, heavy duty lifting and also guarding of the small freeholds that first emerged just years after the droughts and atom wars.
This illustration drawn around the time of the reconstruction shows a typical robot. Deranged looking, not perfect but able to get things done. Some makers used parts from Mac computers, unfortunately these robots largely functioned as show-bots with less functional duties.
Nowadays the robots have been deserted as the 3Z authorities now try to provide at least an adequate infrastructure for all its citizens. The robots are mostly deserted now.
You might still find them in the desert.

Support The 3Z City Universe
Are you enjoying this? If so I would be really grateful if you help me expand the 3Z universe, make more work help create this universe! Every week in 2017, I am trying to make a new piece of 3Z Universe art so that by then end of this year, I will have enough images to make a picture book and some more nice goodies! After that, I want to keep expanding this universe as a graphic novel and a short animation. It takes time and any donation you make will be gratefully received.
