How to follow your favorite blogs
I was having a conversation the other day with one of my good friends about Pinterest. She was telling me that she wished more of her friends pinned stuff because her Pinterest feed wasn’t moving very fast. I suggested she follow some of her favorite creative bloggers because if she likes their style, she will like what they pin. She didn’t realize she could do that. Once I got over the shock and lifted my chin up off the floor, I felt like a failure as a blogger and a friend. Well, just as a blogger friend, I guess. This post might be basic for some of you may already know, but I want to share how to follow your favorite blogs {and other insider tips} and maybe offer a few suggestions and tips as well.
I blog because I love to share, I love the community, I love the feedback, and I love the drive it gives me to do projects on my list. As a side note, I make money from the amount of pageviews I get. I don’t think it’s a secret that bloggers make money, but most of us don’t make enough money that we do it FOR the money…does that make sense? Below minimum wage for me, my friends (if we are counting hours). Some have made it a very lucrative business though.
If you are like me, you have your favorite blogs to read, but don’t always remember to go there, don’t have the right time, get online but fish around other spots and then you realize it’s been a month or more since you’ve been to your favorite spot on the web. Here are my ways to keep on top of following the creative inspiration.
If I know I love the blog and really don’t want to miss a minute, I enter my email, and a reminder comes straight to my inbox when they update. Then I click over and read the post. If I don’t have time that day, I delete and get the reminder again the next day, but I don’t get too far behind on my favorites. I don’t think I make this option as visible, it’s on the “subscribe” tab where my profile picture is. Kinda hidden, might need to change that. Most blogs have this option on their HOME page, just look around. (You can also click on the “sonar waves” icon at the top and subscribe via email).
